Botox Cosmetic was approved in 2002 by the U.S. FDA for treatment of the glabella region (the area between the eyebrows that commonly results in vertical lines that resemble an “11”).

In 2004, Botox received U.S. FDA approval for the treatment of hyperhidrosis.
